Founders and our history
To quote a line in the movie Legally Blonde "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they don't"
Traders Island was born in 2016 with you in mind. We are all on this Earth to be the best version of ourselves and it is living a healthy and active lifestyle that keeps us all centered and happy.
Co-founder Elizabeth Di Cristofano has been in apparel Industry for over 10 years and fitness industry for over a year. She grew up battling health issues from being overweight to being anorexic and yo-yoing for most of her life until she took control and used the power of research and self-education. Elizabeth decided one day enough is enough and completely changed her lifestyle for the better the last decade and hasn't looked back.
Her husband Chuck grew up as having the likes of old-school bodybuilders such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno be his motivation to train in the sport of bodybuilding. He did just that for a decade and trained with 3x Mr. Olympia Sergio Oliva until an unfortunate accident that gave him permanent nerve damage. Today, he still weight trains but also has a degree and practices Physical Therapy to stay active.
How it all began
Seeing an opportunity to express their love of living near the lake and their passion of the fitness and active lifestyle both Elizabeth with her apparel and fitness background and Chuck with his fitness and graphics background decided to create original designs and sell them on everyday products. Each design brings their love and passion to life for each of their customers. However Elizabeth wasn't satisfied and wanted to make Traders Island so much more impactful. She currently volunteers her time at a couple of local organizations that bring together breast cancer survivors or those young and old who have physical or visual disability to enjoy recreational activities, fitness and competitive sports. Then it hit her like a ball smack in the face!! Why not change how the world lives one t-shirt or tote bag at a time. Elizabeth wanted to take Traders Island and not just use it as a site to sell products but as a platform to help everyone on this Earth to live an active lifestyle, a life worth living. Both Elizabeth and Chuck decided to donate a percentage of sales on each design to the organizations that represent the design.
Each design description will have a link to the organization that we not only are involved in but have a deep connection with.
We welcome you to come join us and be part of this movement!
